Sci-Fi / Horror

Bizarre, early Argentine horror / sci-fi film is part silent and part talkie. A US Air Force pilot is shot down during a battle and lands in the jungle. He becomes a Tarzan like jungle man, surviving for 12 years, but becoming insane in the process. When another pilot goes down in the same area, the crazy wild man kills him and steals the plane. He returns to civilization, only to be captured by a mad scientist, and injected with a serum which makes him even crazier -- in fact a monster who attacks and lusts after women. WOW! This rare film has several problems -- the picture is jerky and pixilated, plus there is a sound sinc issue. These flaws were likely the result of a download from a compressed original. However, as the film is a part-silent, the sound issue is not too distracting and it is still watchable. The movie / film starred Saverio Yaquinto, Carmencita Quiroga and Raul D'Angeli.

We want to thank David Wilt for his kind help in writing many of the film descriptions listed on these pages. Without his indispensable book, 'The Mexican Filmography' (McFarland, 2004), the task of writing descriptions of all these films would have been almost impossible. We paraphrased his reviews for most of the synopsis we used for the films. If you don't yet have a copy of Dave's book, there will soon be a new paperback edition -- likely released toward the end of 2010.
